When it comes to tubing, you can never be too prepared. Remember, you are going to be on the water and in the sun for quite a while. Preparation, moderation and patience are the key to a great river trip. And you may want to be thinking if your rear end wants a bottom tube or a bottomless tube, we have both available to rent here at KL Ranch Cliffside. Below are a few helpful tips when preparing to tube down the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, Texas.
- We prefer the tubes with a bottom, but this choice is definitely a personal preference.
- Make sure you grab a few of our trash bags.
- Rope and bungies, you can never have enough.
- Don’t forget snacks. Trips can be long and you will end up wanting something to eat sooner rather than later.
- Sunscreen. Sunscreen. Sunscreen. Make sure you apply it to the entire front of your body.
- Leave the flip flops at the campsite, they do not mix well with the river. Wear water shoes or sports sandals – the Guadalupe River is rocky, not muddy, shoes are a must.
- Everything will get wet, and when we say everything, we mean everything.
- If you are afraid to lose it, don’t bring it.
- Bring plenty of patience. Depending on the water flow, tubing the Guadalupe is meant to be relaxing, not a race, sit back and enjoy the ride!
